A Record-Setting Year: 2015-2016 Updates

Spark continues to grow and the 2015-2016 school year was no different. With more than 2,000 mentors who served more than 40,000 volunteer hours, Spark broke records, reaching nearly 1,200 students in 30 different schools throughout the Bay Area, Los Angeles, Chicago and Philadelphia.

Spark inspires students, and mentors are grateful to be apart of this life changing experience.

“I want to thank my mentors for everything. It was life changing. I learned to follow my dream and never give up. They taught me how to open up and never give up.”

-Spark Student

"Mentoring is helping our students become more aware of their professional potential, while creating  or reinforcing the connection between future career paths and what they are learning in school. These students possess so much raw talent. They are intelligent, brilliant, and inventive.” While the students are involved, interacting, and engaged, their mentor is simultaneously growing, learning,   and exercising their creativity as well. While a new networking connection and relationship is formed, both parties definitely come away a better person than they were before the mentorship."

With your continued support we plan to serve more students, in more regions, in more schools in the years to come. Please consider volunteering to mentor with Spark in the fall or investing in our mission by visiting http://www.sparkprogram.org/index.php/get_involved/donate
